Giving offering to the Lord is one of the ways which our members live out their faith. We do not ask, nor do we expect, visitors to give offering to us. We do not dictate how much our members ought to give. Paul gives us this encouragement as we decide how much of our gifts we want to give back to the Lord , "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Co 9:7. Our offerings go to support the general maintenance and upkeep of our property, the well-being of our pastor, our local ministry, and a portion of what we receive as a church we also set aside for our church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, so that it may continue to operate its many schools, the college for ministry, the seminary, and home and foreign missionaries.
